We (4) popped in on Sunday 27 April.
“That Place” on the main road was a great find.
We had four breakfasts and coffee.
Eggs Benny. Toasties. Coffees.
Excellent, and recommend.
Thank you.

A good selection of cabinet and off the menu food is available here. The menu items cover a range of Asian and Kiwi short order items, and there is a good range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available. A restaurant specialty appears to be the range of pies on offer. There is indoor and outdoor seating available.

Highly recommend. Absolutely amazing food! Chicken Roulade - generous portion and incredible flavour. Others had pork belly, steak, vege burger and Thai beef salad. Entries are very generous helpings too!

Coming back from the beach, we were all hungry for a good food. Among the very few places open, we found this nice and cozy restaurant in Waihi. We order the hot salad, nice and well seasoned. The pizza was on special and the meat one was delicious, homemade and looking fantastic. My one was pasta with seafood with sweet chili, what a nice and happy combination, enjoyed until the very last. Great service and kind staff. Will be back soon.

Comfortable seating, friendly service, no music to compete with (when we were there), and food... oh, the food!
Far better than we had hoped for. The pizzas are loaded with toppings and delicious. A large pizza is more than a meal for one. Wonderfully different vegetarian options from the standard vegy lasagne mushroom burger. The ribs were drool-worthy with an enticing sticky Cola smokey flavour. Yeah, I tried everyone else's food.
I ordered the steak because, well, I love steak. But also because I haven't had the option to have a garlic sauce before. This is my jam! Or sauce, as it were. The steak was seared well with a notable caramel crust. Covered in the aforementioned garlic sauce, which was not as garlicky as I was expecting. It didn't overpower the beef but instead gave a morish pool of additional flavour to drag each slice of beef I carved off.
As for the beef itself. Not the softest cut on the market, so don't expect to pay high-end prices. Cut thinner slices off and savour the intense grass fed beefyness cooked exactly how you like it. Add a little salt and balance that would impress a Jedi is achieved.
Oh, and the mash was creamy, as promised. A perfect pallet cleanser between bites of glorious cow.
Sorry, I didn't slow down in time to get a photo before we finished.
